- Clinical Ophthalmology: prevention, diagnosis, and medical treatment of the diseases affecting the eye and the visual system (eye and ocular adnexa, oculomotor system, visual neural pathways etc...).
- Optometry: measurement of visual acuity and refraction, correction of the refractive errors, i.e. myopia (shortsightness), hypermetropia (longsigthness), and presbyopia.
- Orthoptics: the study of the movements of the eyes, of the squints, and of the 3D-vision.
- Surgery of the eye and the ocular adnexa.
- Refractive Surgery.
